Opinions From A Former Resident
Before moving to the Midwest, I lived in Connecticut for 37 years. I will agree that there is some rural charm left in the state, and my advice to you is seeit quick before it all disappears in the next 5 to 10 years.
I was rather amused at the pronunciations used in the film for the Thames River (which the narrator pronounced the British way instead of the Connecticut way (just like it's spelled)), and we actually pronounce it 'GRAH-ton', not 'GROW-ton'. The University of Connecticut (UConn) is these days better known for it's men's and women's basketball teams than it's research and agricultural studies. I can't think of too many textile mills still operating, if any, and these days the dominant employer, at least in the eastern part of the state, where I was from, is hospitality thanks to the two Native American casinos.
All in all, it was a cute film, and a nice preservation of the history of Connecticut. I only wish I could have seen it for myself before development and whatnot ruined it all.

Now, Let's Review What We've Learned About Connecticut...
Standard-issue educational film about Connecticut, with flowery prose that makes you almost think itÂs a travelogue, but then it ends with ÂNow letÂs review what weÂve learned about ConnecticutÂ
, which puts it squarely in the educational category. No surprises here.
Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: *. Weirdness: *. Historical Interest: ***. Overall Rating: **.

Connecticut Primer
This segment (I'd estimate the first 5 minutes are missing) of this film about Connecticut is pretty basic yet provides a nice opverview of what, where and why connecticut exists. We visit the 2 largest cities in Connecticut, find out what the major industries are there, find out about it's famous citizens and other things like that. Even though it is one of the smallest states in the United States "It's one of the most important". Suuuure.
